Fermenters Must Know These Things Before Using Them

Author:

Fermentation tank is mainly a device used for microbial fermentation in industry, and it is also a container used for microbial culture. According to the different properties of fermentation materials, it can be divided into two types: solid fermentation tanks and liquid fermentation tanks. The tank body is provided with an interlayer and an insulating layer, which can be heated, cooled and insulated.

The tank body and the upper and lower filling heads (or prototypes) are all processed by spinning R angle, the inner wall of the tank is mirror polished, there is no sanitary dead angle, and the fully enclosed design ensures that the materials are always mixed and fermented in a pollution-free state, and the equipment is equipped with air Breathing holes, CIP cleaning nozzles, manholes and other devices.

Fermentation tank is a sealed pressure equipment, the main components include tank body, agitator, shaft seal, defoamer, coupling, intermediate bearing, air bubble pipe (or air ejector), baffle, cooling device, people holes, sight glasses and pipes, etc. Fermentation tanks are usually equipped with two sets of stirring blades, and the spacing between the two sets of stirring blades is about three times the diameter of the stirrer; for large or high-level tanks (height-diameter ratio of more than 10), three or more Stirring paddle.

Before using the fermenter, you must understand these things:

1. It must be ensured that the fermentation system is used when all the single pieces of equipment of the fermentation tank can operate normally.

2. When sterilizing the filter, the steam pressure flowing through the air filter should not exceed 0.17MPa, otherwise the filter element will be damaged and the filtering ability will be lost.

3. During the fermentation process, it should be ensured that the pressure of the fermentation tank does not exceed 0.17MPa.

4. During the actual elimination process, when the jacket is preheated with steam, the inlet steam pressure must be controlled within the working pressure range of the equipment (should not exceed 0.2MPa), otherwise the fermentation tank will be damaged.

5. When the fermenter is empty and consumed, the remaining water in the jacket of the fermenter must be drained. Otherwise, the cylinder in the fermenter may be flattened, causing equipment damage; during actual elimination, it will also cause too much condensed water to dilute the culture solution, so that the process requirements cannot be met.

6. During the cooling process after empty and actual elimination, it is strictly forbidden to generate negative pressure in the fermentation tank to avoid pollution or even damage to the fermentation tank.

7. During the operation of the fermentation tank, the pressure in the air pipeline must be kept higher than the tank pressure of the fermentation tank, otherwise the liquid in the fermentation tank will flow back into the filter, block the filter element or make the filter invalid.
